 Anti-Ragging Cell:

In compliance with the Supreme Court of India and the UGC Regulations, 2009 (including subsequent amendments), Mata Gujri Khalsa College, Kartarpur has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell to ensure that ragging is completely prohibited within the campus. Ragging is considered a criminal offence under both central and state legislations, including the Punjab Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act, 2013. Our institution maintains a zero-tolerance approach towards such acts and is committed to creating a safe, disciplined, and respectful academic environment for all students.

 Defining Ragging:

Ragging includes any spoken, written, or physical act that:
  • Harasses, teases, or intimidates a student
  • Treats another student with rudeness or hostility.
  • Causes psychological harm, fear, or insecurity
  • Creates pressure, coercion, or unfair dominance over juniors.
  • Involves bullying, abuse, or exclusion based on identity, background, or personal attributes
  • Such behavior is a gross violation of human dignity and student rights and is considered a punishable offence.

     Anti-Ragging Measures:

    The Anti-Ragging Cell of Mata Gujri Khalsa College, Kartarpur serves as a supervisory and advisory body that ensures constant vigilance and preventive action. Its main objectives are:

  • To spread awareness about the harmful and dehumanizing effects of ragging.
  • To maintain strict surveillance in classrooms, and campus areas.
  • To respond promptly and strictly to any complaint of ragging.
  • To promote a culture of discipline, respect, and inclusivity.
  • To ensure that no act of ragging goes unnoticed or unpunished.
  • Undertaking: Every student and parent/guardian is required to submit an online anti-ragging affidavit annually at: www.antiragging.in
  •  Consequences Await the Guilty:

    Any student found guilty of ragging shall face strict disciplinary and legal action, including:

  • Suspension, rustication, or expulsion from the institution.
  • Withholding of examination results, scholarships, or placements.
  • Imposition of fines.
  • Criminal proceedings under the law.
